Dave Meneer

Dave is a highly experienced advertising and marketing strategist, business manager and writer. He was formerly CEO of the Jamie Oliver inspired “Fifteen Cornwall” at Watergate Bay and before that marketing director of the Eden Project — playing a key role in it becoming a top ten UK attraction. Dave spent 25 year “in advertising” in London, Paris and Frankfurt running accounts such as Flora, Cornetto, Birds Eye, Directline, RNLI and Royal Navy — culminating as European VP of McCann Erickson, heading up General Motors advertising in 23 countries with a budget of 250m dollars. He can work with smaller budgets. Dave is advisor to the Tate St Ives, Chair of Leach Pottery and editor of the best-selling Little Book of Cornwall and others in the same series.

Jo Downie

Jo is an experienced marketer who looks at a business from every angle to ensure growth and a better return on marketing investment. Jo knows how to get all of the marketing tools working together for best effect, and is also our lead on digital projects (“actually I’m a bit of a geek”). She’s worked with clients in tourism, food, retail, corporate service industries and education. Past projects have included: helping to launch Wing of St Mawes, probably the UK’s first online fishmonger and now market leaders for direct delivery of fresh fish nationwide; and working with Menai Holiday Cottages in North Wales supporting them through growth including a 65% increase in bookings and a 30% increase in property stock. For her sins Jo’s also our MD.

Phil Gendall

| Director

Phil is a branding and design consultant. He helps businesses to understand what what makes them remarkable from a customer perspective, and makes sure it’s communicated vividly through the strategic application of design. Phil’s worked in most sectors – clients past and present read like a who’s who of great regional brands and include; the Eden Project, Cornish Sea Salt, the Duchy of Cornwall, the Convergence Partnership, Tregothnan Tea, Pendennis, the Isles of Scilly, Michelmores, Visit Cornwall and Falmouth University. Phil mixes talking with doing and has been the Chair of the South West Design Forum, an Advisor for the Design Council, and a senior lecturer in design. Don’t get him started on Comic Sans.
