Best destination brochure in the UK!

For the second year running we picked up Gold at the British Destinations Conference for our brochure for the Isles of Scilly; once again a team of judges put us on the shortlist of five and then the public voted us No 1 again! The judges praised our work summing it up neatly in 5 words “you want to be there” and the public agreed – marketing textbooks would call that “desired consumer response” and we’ll settle for that.

But awards are one thing, marketplace results are another – we like to see both; and so we are equally delighted that visitors to the islands are up over 10% year on year. And when the island economy is over 90% dependent on tourism income that makes for happy islanders!

Since we started working with them in late 2012 we have insisted on a palette of marketing activity dovetailing to guarantee results – so whilst we are fans of the internet and social media we recognise the importance of printed material too. Brochures remain hugely important. And gold is gold.
